Let me tell you a bit about myself!
Hello! My name is Rachelle. I am an honest, friendly, clean, quiet, artist and graphic designer in her late 30s. I am practical and very detail oriented. Thanks to my tough-love single mother, I am also very resourceful, responsible, and reliable. She raised me to be an independent person with high morals.
Speaking of my mother, when possible, I enjoy bringing her with me on housesits, especially international ones; so if I sit for you it’s possible I may ask if I can bring her along. It’s nice having an extra set of hands to help care for the pets. I cherish trips with my mother and am trying to do as many as possible now that she is retired (before she enters her golden years and prefers to stay closer to home).
What else can I tell you about myself? Let’s see…
I am a non-smoker and don’t use recreational drugs. I do drink occasionally, but responsibly. I have never been in trouble with the law (not even a speeding or parking ticket, knock on wood).
I am a college-educated women. In 2005, I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Sacramento. Since then I have earned two additional associate degrees. I have a passion for learning and consider myself a lifelong student.
I am self-employed. I run my own graphic design business, specializing in branding and packaging for the wine industry. My career allows me the flexibility to work from anywhere I have a good internet connection, which makes house/pet-sitting a perfect fit for me.
When I am not working, I am usually engaged in some sort of project that satisfies my need for creative expression. Some of these hobbies include sewing, baking, winemaking, ukulele playing, crocheting, singing, song writing, photography, crafts, painting, drawing, and printmaking.
I love to travel to new and exciting places typically off the beaten path; places that require a combination of a plane, train, boat, or tuk-tuk to reach.
When I am not at home being crafty or backpacking in another country, you can find me outside enjoying nature, either making my way to the top of the mountain to take in the breathtaking view or zig-zagging through the underbrush, obsessively foraging for mushrooms.
