Poolside in Sacramento #3 | 10 Days

Summer is a-comin’!!! Technically Summer does not start until late June, but the weather didn’t seem to get that memo. The temperature soared to over 100 degrees for several days in a row during this sit.

Just like the last time I sat here, my top priority was improving and maintaining the quality of the pool water – not only so the owner could come home to a sparkling pool, but so that I had clean, algae-free place to cool off on the hottest of days.

DUTIES:

– Maintain pool (add chemicals, sweep, skim, etc)
– Water outdoor plants/trees
– Gather the mail
– Put out the trash for collection

Unexpected Benefits and/or Realizations:

There’s a HUGE bathtub here that is the perfect place to wind down in the evenings – whether I take a hot bath or a cool one. Makes me think… while swimming pools are nice, a big, deep bathtub is really all I need.

Unexpected Events and/or Challenges:

BLACK WIDOW SPIDERS!!!!
I am not one to be overly bothered by spiders or creepy crawly things, but black widow spiders are different – these things are what nightmares are made of, lol.

For safety reasons, I killed several that I found around the pool area and walkways. I am sure there are a TON more, but if they don’t bother me, I won’t bother them.
